Outline Profile of our Coaches

We try and provide the right coach for each client taking into account the type of coaching to be undertaken. To get the best fit we look at the areas of expertise of the coach, personal chemistry between coach and coachee, the style or method of coaching required and location.

We can draw upon a network of experienced coaches who all work to same high standards and follow the EMCC code of ethics.

No client is ever forced to have a particular coach and we are happy to offer a choice of different coaches to get the right fit so that we get the best out of each coaching assignment

Caroline Talbott

Caroline has exceptional experience of supporting leaders and their teams to deliver their business strategy and meet the demands of a complex and changing environment. She has gained this over more than 30 years in a wide spectrum of companies and sectors – from blue chip, global businesses to public sector organisations e.g. telecommunications (BT in particular), technology, transport, construction, legal and education. She has worked with people in 17 countries. Based in Somerset

Paul Walton

A result orientated ‘people’ professional with a corporate commercial background. He possesses strong commercial acumen with a proven track record of exceeding expectations within highly competitive blue chip markets. Paul is an advocate of development and change that has produced career advancement for many individuals. Paul has provided management development and coaching to a broad selection of industries including I.T., logistics, finance, law, NHS, MOD, manufacturing, retail, wholesale and leisure. Based in Somerset

Ron Storey

A Business Chartered Psychologist and Executive Coach with a unique blend of experience that meets the needs of current clients in pharmaceutical, energy, communication, production, government, emergency services & charity sectors. In addition to individual & team coaching, Ron coaches both face-to-face & internationally by phone. Some recent projects include developing & implementing a Performance Review process, coaching a team through the integration of two manufacturing units and developing & delivering a management ILM programme .Based in Gloucestershire

Steve Porter

Steve originally trained as a Clinical Biochemist with the Ministry of Agriculture and holds a Member of the Institute of Biology (Biochemistry) taken at Paisley University. He moved into the commercial field with Abbott Laboratories in 1979 and quickly progressed through sales and marketing management roles to become General Manager of the Diagnostic Division in 1985. He moved to European Headquarters in 1987 and took responsibility for the European near patient testing strategy, turning this round from a loss making to a profitable business turning over $20M a year.

He returned to the UK in 1991 to set up his own sales and marketing company working in a variety of scientific segments on management, sales and marketing issues and has a portfolio of over 80 companies that he regularly works with, mostly in-house with tailored courses or one-to-one coaching tailored to the individual.

Deborah Dowe

Deborah has over 20 years’ experience of business leadership, strategy development and consulting with hi-tech companies such as BT, QinetiQ and Accenture. She has led organisations comprising a broad range of functions such as sales, corporate relations, HR and technology development and enjoys the challenges of improving communications and inter-working between them.

Deborah holds a BSc in Maths and Physics, an MSc in Computing, an MBA and has a level 7 certificate in Executive Coaching and Leadership Mentoring from the Institute of leadership and Management. Shaped by her own background and experience, her particular passion in coaching is to help people with technical and specialist skills reach their full potential within the business environment, building the confidence and self- awareness to define and achieve success on their own terms.

Keith Barnwell

Based in Berkshire
A leadership development specialist and Executive Coach, Keith works with both senior leaders and those aspiring to become the leaders of the future. He uses a wide range of psychometric tools designed to help his clients understand their strengths and weaknesses, and ultimately improve interpersonal relationship skills through increased self-awareness. Keith has a wealth of personal leadership experience gained during a long and successful career as a Commander in the Royal Navy. In addition to corporate and individual clients, Keith has extensive experience coaching senior military and civil service leaders in the Defence and related industries, including British Aerospace, Thales and BAe Systems.

Martyn Melvin

An experienced and qualified HR Director, he is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and Fellow of the institute of Leadership and Management with an MA in Human Resource Management from Oxford Brookes University. He has been an ad hoc lecturer on the International Management course at the University. He has a level 7 certificate in Executive Coaching and Leadership Mentoring from the Institute of leadership and Management. He has held Senior and Board-level HR positions in a variety of industries including pharmaceutical, drinks, FMCG and electronics both in the UK and internationally. Based in Bristol and Wiltshire

Lindsey Newman

A law graduate, Lindsey jointly established our sister company, Purple House Recruitment Ltd in 2002 and built it to a thriving and reputable HR recruitment consultancy. Lindsey’s skill has always been at the senior end of the market and she has worked with a wide range of sizes and types of organisation over the last 14 years to recruit lawyers, sales managers and HR professionals in permanent and interim positions. She is now dedicated to developing the Purple House Executive brand and to expanding her strong HR network for the benefit of her clients. Lindsey lives in Bristol with her husband and 3 lively children.

Tom Mornement

Tom is the joint founder of Purple House. He graduated in Business and IT and recruited at the mid to senior levels in the highly competitive banking and finance market in London before moving into HR recruitment some 9 years ago. Tom’s strength is in relationship management and he has many clients and candidates that he has worked with repeatedly over that time. Tom is married with three children and lives in Wiltshire.
