Interim position for 6 Months
Our client is a market leading supplier of building products and solutions, employing approximately 1,200 people throughout the UK. As part of a Dutch conglomerate, who in turn employs over 6,500 people across 27 European countries, 2004 was a record year for sales, operating and net profit. The UK business is now looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join its team in Wiltshire, initially for a minimum period of 6 months.
In 2005 the UK arm of this business acquired one of its major competitors, effectively doubling its employee numbers. This has led to significant structural change as well as integration work which is still ongoing and has kept the HR department particularly busy. The employee base is a good mix of manufacturing and commercial personnel.
As the HR department expects to be very busy over the coming months we are looking for a candidate with the experience, maturity and ability to ‘hit the ground running’ as there is no time for someone to develop into this role. Accordingly, it is likely that you will have around 5 years generalist experience with the confidence and knowledge to deliver on senior recruitment projects, performance management initiatives, employee relations activity, reward and development schemes.
In addition to your experience, you should be CIPD qualified, a team player who is flexible, adaptable and able to multitask in a busy but fun HR department. You should be highly professional and credible with strong IT skills (Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes etc.). Some knowledge of pensions would be a great advantage.
Although this position is initially for 6 months, there may well be a permanent opportunity in the offing depending on the ongoing structural changes and company developments.
