12 month contract
Salary: c. £40-45k
Our client is a high-growth, high margin FMCG company with clear vision, strategy and values. It is an acknowledged market-leader in its field and now requires a Salesforce Effectiveness Manager to drive the UK sales development initiative and provide influence to the global project team who are designing and rolling out global sales training programmes. This will be a 12 month assignment.
This is a very fast-paced organisation and the role will require UK travel as well as some European travel. Reporting to the Organisation Development Manager, with a strong dotted line to the Sales Director, you will manage the Salesforce Effectiveness programme ( which includes salary benchmarking, skills & capability development, performance management) developed so far and ensure it is effectively integrated for maximum impact. Additionally you will explore the sales processes currently used to ensure they meet the future needs of the business.
Main Challenges
- This role is new and will report into the HR structure, but main resources will be held by the Line organisation. The job holder will therefore be required to work closely and effectively with the Line organisation for the delivery of activities.
- National distribution of Field-based Sales staff means communication and influencing style will be critical. The successful candidate will need to spend 2-3 days per week travelling in the UK.
- Staff turnover levels have been relatively high which results in resource intensive induction and initial training activities.
- Anticipated product changes will require high levels of technical skill throughout the Sales force. Training and development activities, tools and resources will need to support a high level of technical training
Key Performance Indicators
- Clear identification of development needs and evidence of effective planning.
- Consistent delivery of development and training programmes to agreed standards, costs and timescales using a mixture of internal and external resources.
- Consistently good feedback from internal customers regarding effectiveness of activities.
- Input and advice regularly sought out and welcomed by internal customers.
- Effective team working with OD manager and HR colleagues.
Requirements
- Knowledge of adult learning theory; education & training processes and available resources; principles & practices of management & supervision; effective implementation of change with extensive experience of Sales Training.
- Ability to plan, organise and implement comprehensive development programmes; establish & maintain credibility with employees and managers; analyze problems and recommend effective solutions; perform role of facilitator & coach; present information effectively to groups and in writing
- Development qualifications – e.g. CIPD/Masters together with FIRO-B, MBTI or other tools
- Regular UK travel likely to require overnight stays
