Our client is a rapidly growing retail business employing approximately
1500 employees across the South West. Its growth is now such that it
needs to begin to grow its HR function and we are now looking to recruit
a Regional HR Officer to work closely with and to support the Head of
HR on operational HR issues.
As the Regional HR Officer you provide an effective and efficient Personnel
field service to the Retail stores and outlets. The role of Regional
HR Officer is a real generalist position with a key focus on recruitment
and selection, employee relations, management support and advice, store
openings and TUPE along with projects. This is an interesting role and
would suit someone who thrives on variation.
Your main responsibilities would be:
Recruitment & Selection
- Visit stores who experience problems recruiting and offer
advice to Store Managers.
- To conduct interviews for management grade staff
- Liaise with Store Managers/Area Managers regarding vacancies
- Arrange recruitment advertising and maintain budgetary
parameters
- Set up and attend Job Centre/University open days
Employee Relations & Employment Law
- Assist management in dealing with Sickness and absence,
redundancy, disciplinary and grievance issues
- Collate Leavers information, conducting Exit interviews
- Assist on TUPE matters complete all documentation
- Assist in Employment Tribunal cases where appropriate
- Advise Store Managers on employment law matters and Company
Policy.
Store Opening & Closures TUPE
- Liaise with Area Manager to make sure new stores are resourced
and staff are trained prior to opening
- Attend new store openings and induct the staff
- Complete all the necessary paperwork and interviews related
to store closures
We are looking for a CIPD qualified candidate with approximately 3 years
generalist experience, ideally in a retail business. You will have up
to date employment law knowledge and will be used to advising, supporting
and challenging managers on a wide range of HR issues. You must hold
a full driving licence and be prepared to travel most days.
