Regional HR Advisor - Job 528

Based: South (Ideal location of candidate: Berkshire, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Bristol)

c. £26,000 plus car and excellent benefits


Our client is an established family business, with a high reputation for reliable and quality service in the supply of wholesale products to industrial and commercial customers. Having doubled in size over the past five years and looking to repeat that growth in the future, they have created a new role of Regional HR Officer. The HR Officer’s role will be covering a broad geographical area, predominately across the South with the Head Office based in Wiltshire. It offers an exiting opportunity to an HR Officer with experience of working in a multi-site environment and able to work with a mostly male workforce. The HR team is proactive, fun, friendly and always looking for ways of developing HR practices which add true business value, aligned to the company’s goals. They are looking for an experienced HR Officer who has a positive, feisty attitude with a desire to grow in a strong creative environment and want commitment to HR best practice to shine through.

Role:

To provide operational field support to the Regional Managers in the areas of HR and H&S

Principal Accountabilities

  • Provide advice and coaching to line managers and employees in all aspects of HR.
  • Provide good communications with other departments and liaise effectively with other members of the HR team
  • Implementation of HR strategy and best practice
  • Ensuring all relevant H&S and Employment Law is complied with across the company and best practice is followed at all times
  • Promotion of benefits and reward strategies
  • Promotion and facilitation of communication strategies (I&C)
  • Promotion of company training programmes and facilitation where appropriate
  • Conducting and following up Company H&S audits in conjunction with H&S Officer
  • Provide administration support in absence of HR administrator.
  • Line managers do undertake their own recruitment, but the HR Officer would be expected to advise and coach managers in interviewing skills and techniques.

The Person

  • Preferably CIPD qualified. More important is the character and cultural fit.
  • A lively, friendly sole who has strong reasoning skills who can influence diplomatically, but in a straight forward manner in a male dominated environment.
  • Willing to travel on a daily basis – (probably 4 days out of 5)
  • A fast paced multi-tasker, able to juggle and prioritise.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience, preferably in a multi-site role
  • Excellent knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Experience of coaching line managers.
