Tom Mornement

I became an HR specialist having started as a forensic accountant in London, recruitment found me 2 years later and I was fortunate enough to join a progressive and respected company where I received excellent training in listening skills, assessing and truly matching candidates with clients and vice versa.
After a number of years in London my wife and I decided to move back to the West Country where we originated. In 2001 Lindsey Newman and I joined forces to set up Carr Lyons HR Solutions Bristol which we did for 18 very successful months before deciding to go it alone founding Purple House Recruitment.
The Purple House Journey
Purple House was born in July 2002, the business grew and employed a team of 10 achieving good growth. When the recession bit us, we re-structured and re-thought our approach. We worked hard and found a way through making us more nimble which enabled us to be more focused on the needs of our clients and candidates. Today Purple House is what it’s always been, a niche, specialist boutique recruitment company focussing on everything HR.
As well as managing a client base I’m responsible for running the internal workings of the business including payroll, marketing, accounts, invoicing, IT, website, phones, administration and supplier management.
Beyond Purple House
Away from the office we have 3 teenage children to keep us busy and I can be found on a touchline watching or coaching junior cricket and rugby in all sorts of weather.
I still play cricket regularly and we have a little seaside cottage in the North of Scotland where we often escape the rat race by bashing Munros, camping in the wild or simply enjoying the big wide open space.
