Last Christmas, Fiona and I sat down to make some plans for 2019, we tried to consider all the things that might be issues facing our business in the coming year. Obviously Brexit is a major consideration. But after talking about it and thinking it over we realised that there was absolutely nothing we could do about it. So, we put the Brexit thing to one side and focussed on what we could affect; like appreciating and valuing our clients, continuing to meet all our candidates and most of all going the extra mile to help, no matter whether you are a client or candidate, friend of foe!
Riding High
Perhaps by chance, (or perhaps not) as we approach the end of the first quarter of this year we are riding high. Purple House Recruitment is about to post its best ever quarter – that’s right the first quarter of 2019 is going to be our best ever quarter, who knew? Obviously, it’s been a busy time for us recently and we’re extremely thankful for that. Looking at the data there’s nothing that stands out to say something unique has happened for us. We have been working with clients from all sorts of different sectors and recruiting HR professionals at different level. Maybe, the only real difference is that there has been a few more Interim vacancies than Permanent ones compared to previous quarters.
What’s the Secret?
So, what’s the secret then? Well, if we knew that would we be telling you! What we can say though is that making a plan however simple; sticking to our principles and values of working hard and being honest; of simply trying to do the best job we can has worked really well for us and we intend to carry on doing these things and trying to do them well for the rest of 2019.
Reinvesting
Rather than taking the money and running we’ve re-invested in the business – Purple House Recruitment. We are delighted to announce that Louise McMilan, HR and In-House Recruitment Specialist, has joined us to help with the work load and enable us to keep meeting all our candidates. Having worked as an Interim In-House Recruiter in recent years Louise has plenty of experience (stories!) and knowledge of what it’s like on your side of the candidate process/journey. We also have a new office and a brand new Social Media Manager to help us be as relevant and informative as possible. There’s sure to be more on this as we journey through the year.
Now we understand that there are bound to be bumps in the 2019 road. Brexit is still hovering over us but rather than worrying about what might or might not happen, we’re going to be focussing on the things that we can influence and affect.
If you’d like to know more about Purple House Recruitment, who we are and what we do then please get in touch, we’d be very happy to see what we can do to help you in 2019.
